Mountain Lion appears again.

During day light today, Rogger, our head goat was taken by our local mountain lion. At the moment we're weighing our options and trying to figure out what to do. Sam, our Nigerian Dwarf wasn't at all happy as we put him in for the evening, poor guy.

There wasn't any tracks this time or signs besides a bent in pole in our fencing and Rogger gone. It's so sad that Sam is all alone now and that his last buddy is gone. Just think, we started with four goats, and now we just have one. I guess our inexperience has proved to be the death of our animals, even if we have been putting them in every night in a covered, secured kennel with straw, and have a solid fence (though mountain lions can jump 15 feet easily and climb fencing). I really wonder what we're going to do. Our home has now been marked as a prey buffet, and it so sucks...

If anyone is interested in reading about mountain lions, here is a site that I'm studying up on at the moment: http://www.mountainlion.org

Hugs and love to all, Mary and family
