Family Reunion and Camping!

The family reunion with the Harrison's (my mother in law's side), and the Cutler clan (Scott's parents and siblings) was awesome and we had an amazing time. True, Utah was hot, but we all survived with the relatively low humidity. After the family reunion with everyone starting to go their ways boarding airplanes, Scott, the kids and I headed up the hill for some camping in the mountains. It was awesome! We did a whole night roughing it in the solid woods; doing fishing, cooking s'mores and preventing bug and bear attacks during our stay. The only hard part for the kids was the change in schedule/routine and being somewhere different (for Emilie, the hardest part was the heat!). We were in no cell phone coverage, which was also a bit hard, but we survived!

George's favorite thing to do was fish, wither in the water, or on gravel, with his fancy new Mickey Mouse clubhouse fishing pole and rubber fish attached to it's end! Between fishing, George loved seeing the motorcycle riders whoosh by as we walked and walked finding new fishing places (apparently fresh water fishing requires a LOT of walking) and grew a new love and appreciation for motorcycles.  Emilie's favorite activity was watching all the action (of walking and casting, we never caught a fish sadly) from her cozy position in my sling.

After camping, we took a whole day to say our goodbyes to family and friends. Our first stop was at Aunt Carla's, where we saw her, Aunt Marilyn and Grandma Vicki (and we all met up with Aunt Jenni, Uncle Derek and Eden to eat). We all went to an authentic Utah restaurant called "The Training Table" with the best Blue Cheese and Bacon cheese burger in all the United States of America, and they had a decent shake and onion rings too. If there are any three, well ok, four places to go to eat in Utah, it's Culver's, The Training Table, Sonic, and a shaved ice stand! Ok, you can tell I'm super hungry right now ;) These places wouldn't have been fun though without good company, and thats how all the good and awesome experiences were made. If you think about it, all your top memories in life include people you love and care for (and not because they just "happen to be there," the memory wouldn't be good without them!). It was super fun to see Aunt Carla's home for the first time too, and the kids had so much fun with her toy box! George and Aunt Carla got to have some nice one on one time in the kitchen munching on snacks and Emilie got to spend some time with her as well. The reunion went by so fast, and we wish it could have been longer to spend some more time with everyone. Thank you everyone who made the family reunion possible and for everyone who came with coming! We had such an awesome time seeing you all and can't wait till we see you again (hopefully most this Christmas)! We love you guys :)
