A Day Home Schooling

George helping mommy dig up a few weeds

I have determined that home school is fun. Not just a little bit fun, but a lot of fun! After starting with our scripture song and bible history, we worked on the letter of the week, which included on going on a treasure hunt to find the coin with letter stuck to it, putting our new letter sticker up on the board, pasting cards of the upper case and lower case letters, and practicing writing the letters. I'm pretty impressed with how just writing one letter a week with how much better George has gotten! George got his math in with his Montessori Monster Math app and is currently working on lower addition and subtraction. One of my favorite parts of home school today though (besides eating chocolate chip cookies with milk outside), was playing outside! I was so happy to see how awesome George and Emilie are getting at with playing together, especially outside! Outside, we fed the chickens and gathered eggs, dug up a few weeds and talked about roots, picked wild strawberries, and did imaginary play. The weather is absolutely incredible, and just being inside was dreadfully painful when seeing the beautiful outdoors through the windows (so happy to get outside)! It's getting plenty warm now and the bugs are finally crawling out in more and more abundance to enjoy all the warmth too (I'm praying a tarantula doesn't make it's way into our house however!).
