Fresh Air and Weeding

George and Emilie holding still for a few minutes (I bribed them with crackers & smoked salmon...)

Today we had, what you would call, an awesome Saturday. It was a beautiful day, and we got in a good days worth of work with a family pow-wow, weeding our flower beds out. Everything is play to our kids, and this was no exception... we all had a blast. The "working" wasn't necessarily the thing I thought that was most fun, but being in the presence of family while working made it quite fun. Good life lesson I suppose!

After weed digging and pulling, George helped daddy with the Round-up spray, assisting around the house. Emilie and I watched from the distance and cooled off with some simple homemade lemonade (1T sugar, 2 tsp lemon juice shook up in a bottle) in the shade. George really loved helping daddy, and it he was strong enough, he would have lugged that whole 2 gallon Round-up container around with him without Scott's help!

Once the work was accomplished, we had our "quiet time" and boy were we tired (not as tired as daddy though). In the nice AC, we relaxed on the bed and watched a few shows as Emilie fell asleep for her afternoon nap. It was a good day, and we taught the kids how to work in the garden. Big accomplishment. ;) Now, next adventure coming soon... camping!
