A Surprise Snow Day

Today we were surprised and happy to see big white puffs of snow falling from the sky. I guess Spring decided to be indecisive! Of course, we did read the weather forecast and sort of knew we were going to get snow, but hearing about it and witnessing it are two different things! The snow was so beautiful in the morning and just made me sigh at the beauty...

The snow didn't last and was gone by the time we were back from church, but we got in a good hour of play in the morning in it (since the kids wake up so darn early!). It was such a blessing to be able to play in it since by the time the tourists came up for the day, the snow was practically long gone. We really love it where we live.

After playing in the cold, cold snow, we warmed ourselves up with homemade chicken soup and cups of hot cocoa with mini marshmallows. We then got on our church attire and headed out the door! Though the snow's gone now, we've been having a nice "sort-of-quiet" rainy day and are enjoying the indoors! Now, I better go make myself a nice cup of herbal tea...
