Whale Watching with Family

Despite having no pictures of the whales, this was the best whale viewing trip we have ever had! It was so exciting. There were a few breaches, many tail views and much chatting and fun. We must have seen beautiful tail views at least a dozen times, and once even saw a whale jump straight out of the water and landed with a beautiful crash. Our captain Joe (I think his name was, either that or John) said there was some "courting" going on, hence the frequent sightings.

The day was absolutely perfect for whale watching to our joy. The swells were relatively calm, the breeze wasn't too hard, and the drunkards aboard didn't get into any fights *wink* (but it was a close call with one man!). George also made a friend with a woman aboard, and went right up to her. He completely won her heart and he sat on her lap for awhile and even was permitted to munch on her chips and pretzels as he dug in and helped himself! George really has no problem with being shy, and I sure hope he keeps up the charisma skills! Though as an adult, he won't get away with just sitting down and munching on someones pretzels. I have no doubt he will be a great friend to all those around him though. :)

Going whale watching Saturday with family was definitely one of the highlights of fun activities we did as a family. It was nice having so many people close together, but in America family branches each like their own climates and areas of the country. And boy, do we have a big country. I'm happy we have airplanes at least, to visit. We had an awesome visit, and George, Scott and I, and I'm sure Emilie too, were sad to see them go. Until Thanksgiving or Christmas then.
