George's Birthday Party!

Picture
Yesterday, George had a fabulous birthday party! More than expected arrived, and we had a full house. All the kids had a blast. Quincey, George's long time friend since entering this world, arrived, along with his buff from nursery and her brother, and also all our friends from play group. My Big Bro arrived with sweet Kaydon (who now has asked and received permission to be George's big sister) and my mom "Nana".

With a Darth Vader PiƱata, homemade ice cream cake, free playtime, party favors of goat corn to feed the goats, and chicken holding time, the party was complete! Having farm animals makes any party an instant novelty for kids I found out, and having a giant room for the kids to play in and run wild also seems to help!

We did start with an agenda, which did help, but we ended up using it as a general guideline to follow. Being flexible really helps ease stress for kids. I had to keep re-checking myself, even with the planning, and saying, "This is for George, not me. If the schedule isn't fitting, adapt it to him!" And it really worked out that way. -Sometimes we lose track of whats really important (George being happy and having fun), and can get all lost in the chaos. That happened a few times with me, but Heavenly Father really helped me by keeping my priorities straitened, and through the whole period, George had a good time, and I kept self correcting! :)

The party was full of laughs and fun, and we were even surprised to see an old friend drop by (Sister Becky, one of the nicest people in the whole world!). With chatting, carrots, lemon water, and pizza, rolling cars, an egg raffle, etc. we all had a blast.

One of the things we are starting for a family tradition is having a paper family members write birthday wishes on for the birthday boy or girl (inspired by a dear friend at church). We received many lovely birthday wishes for George! If you would like to send George a birthday wish, please comment below or send an email, and I will write it down for him on the "birthday wishes" paper we will be keeping.

George and us send our love to family and friends, those who were there and who couldn't be. Love, the Cutler's.
